Owls love eagles

As part of a 2-under par 34 on his home Atkinson Country Club course, Justin Trodella garnered Timberlane's first eagle of the season as the Owls swept their second quad match in as many days. Trodella hammered his second shot on the par-5 sixth hole to within five feet of the pin then sank the putt that created his final score. Timberlane (156) defeated Manchester Central (174), Nashua South (183) and Winnacunnet (186).

Turnaround continues

The Pinkerton softball team (15-5), which failed to even make the tournament last year, continued its turnaround season with a 5-0 win over Winnacunnet in the first round of the Class L tournament yesterday. Cara Chooljian led the way, striking out nine while scattering five hits and helping her own cause with a key two-run double.

Fantastic freshmen

Freshmen Sarah Frahm (3 for 5, two RBIs, two runs), Steph Long (2 for 4, two RBIs, one run) and Nicole Gubellini (one inning, two strikeouts) were pivotal in Salem's 13-1 drubbing of Winnacunnet.
