Sachems win Pentathlon

The Pentucket girls track team had a lot to be proud of at Tuesday's State Pentathlon Championship after taking first place as a team with 8,306 points. The Sachems were led by the fourth-place finish of Emily Rubio (3,064), the eighth-place finish of Madi Krohto (2,921) and Kinneal Dickens coming in 40th (2,321).

Anthony Survilas scored twice and Spencer Deane had 36 saves as Salem recorded an impressive 4-0 victory over Pinkerton. The Blue Devils improved t0 14-2-3 overall.

Parker, Owls prevail again


LONDONDERRY — Konrad Parker did it again Saturday at the New Hampshire Division 1 state meet.

And so did, once again, the Timberlane wrestling team.

Last year as a freshman, Parker stunned the No. 1 seed and captured the 106-pound title to help the Owls rally to capture their fourth straight state crown. On Saturday, he pinned the No. 1 seed, Nashua South's Colby Spencer, in the finals for yet another title.

Nugent wins national title


Phillips Academy senior Marisol Nugent, in the first-ever girls division at the National Prep Wrestling Tournament, captured the 144-pound weight class at Lehigh Friday. She had three straight pins, including over No. 1-seed Reese Larramendy of Wyoming Seminary in the finals. Her brother, Colin, was 2-2 in the boys division but did not place.

Londonderry's White takes two thirds

It was a good day for Londonderry's Brandon White at Saturday's Division 1 state swimming meet.

The junior took thirds in both the 50 freestyle (22.86) and 100 freestyle (50.02) to help the Lancers take eighth as a team with 87 points, and he also swam a leg on both the fifth-place 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay.

Londonderry's Edwards wins two titles

What a state title debut it was for Londonderry's Margaret Edwards.

The freshman, competing in her first Division 1 state championship meet, won both the 50 freestyle (25.18) and the 100 breaststroke (1:09.87) to help the Lancer girls take sixth as a team with 104 points. She also swam a leg on both the third-place 200 medley relay team and the 200 freestyle relay team.

Jesse Ames scored a team-high 15 points to lead Pinkerton to a 41-33 victory over Windham. Sarah Dempsey scored 16 points for the Jaguars.

Astros stun Jags

Pinkerton (1-11, 2-13) earned its first regular season win, dumping Windham (6-6), 62-51. The Astros' only other win was over Windham in the IAABO Christmas Tourney. Mike Packowski shined for the Astros with 9 points and 10 rebounds. Justin Dunne (13), Jimmy Flynn (11) and Miguel Mejia (10) all scored in double figures.

Sterling McLaughlin had a 13-second pin in Pinkerton's 60-18 win over Alvirne. Teammate Xavier Anthony was close behind with a 17-second pin at 152 pounds for the Astros (9-2).
