The division III sixth-seeded Hornets moved on to the Semifinals after beating third-seeded North Shore Tech Bulldogs 3-1 yesterday.  The Hornets (16-6) will face the tenth-seeded Georgetown Royals (16-7)  June 3 at 7 p.m. at Fraser Field-Lynn.

With Tito Pizarro (14 points, seven assists, five steals) in foul trouble late in the game, freshman Marck Galva replaced him and went on to have an excellent fourth quarter in Whittier's 70-63 win over North Shore. Galva had eight points, eight boards and four blocks, all in the final frame. Paulo Tavares was his usual reliable self with 20 points and 15 rebounds.

Presentation of Mary wrapped up the Commonwealth Conference small school title with a resounding 53-17 victory over North ShoreTech. Becky Smith led the Panthers (14-2, 11-0 in CAC) way with 15 points but every girl on the team scored.

WEST ANDOVER — Wadscar Gomez jumpstarted the Greater Lawrence offense. But for the Reggies, the problem wasn’t the start, but the finish.

Four times Greater Lawrence marched with ease into North Shore territory and four times they came away with nothing to show during a 7-2 loss to the Bulldogs yesterday afternoon.

The Lawrence High boys soccer team picked up its fourth win of the season behind Francesco Cuesta's hat trick. Cuesta's three goals were backed up by single scores from Luis Hernandez and Francis Henriquez. Melvin Morales finished with five saves.

Christian Cano notched a hat trick for victorious Greater Lawrence. Matt Jasinski added three assists.
