Sanborn seniors Morgan Farmer and Cara Carter both hit two home runs as the Indians opened the Class M tournament with an 11-1 rout of Fall Mountain. Farmer, who has 13 career home runs, also tripled and drove in seven runs while Carter drove in three runs.

 Sanborn used the long ball to down Fall Mountain 6-0 . Krissy Romano opened the scoring for the Indians (7-1) with a grand slam homer in the fourth and Morgan Farmer added a solo shot.

Sanborn boys place second

Isaac Fithian finished in a time of 17:18 (3.1 miles) to place first and help the Sanborn boys to a second place finish in its quad meet with Fall Mountain, White Mountain and Conant. Fall Mountain won the meet with 20 points while the Indians finished with 58.

The high flying Men's basketball team, after five road games in six weeks, will finally be at home tonight.

The Warriors (9-1, 5-1 in Northeast-10) host perennial power Bentley University (9-4, 3-3) at 7:30 p.m., immediateley after the Merrimack women host Bentley. Also tonight, Darren Duncan will be honored for being the newest member of the Merrimack 1,000-point club.

Sanborn's storybook season ends on a low note

PENACOOK, N.H. — It was a remarkable season filled with firsts for the Sanborn girls soccer team — first time winning 15 games in a season, first time being ranked as high as No. 4 for postseason play, first time having an 11-game win streak, first time making it to the Class M Finals.
