Andover's Yandel Morales went 4-0 to remain unbeaten on the season and win the 106-pound title at the Woburn Invitational. Golden Warriors Jonathan Davila (152 pounds), Hussain Mahesri (170 pounds) and Jason Ballou (113 pounds) each went 3-1 to finish second.

The North Andover girls basketball team fell to top-seeded Woburn, 54-32, in the first round of the Division 1 North tournament. The Knights, who end their season 10-11, were led by 9 points from freshman Hannah Martin.

Andover took third at the Woburn Invitational, which was won by St. John's Prep, but the Warriors had an impressive champion in 145-pound sophomore Jonathan Davila. Trailing 6-4 in the last minute in the finals, he rallied for a 9-7 decision.

Affolter strikes in OT

Caroline Affolter scored the biggest of her five goals in overtime to give Central Catholic girls lacrosse a 13-12 win over Woburn. The Raiders trailed, 9-3, at halftime, but stormed back to tie things up at 12-12 to end regulation, before Affolter sealed the win.

North Andover overcame a one-goal halftime deficit to beat Woburn, 10-8. Senior Molly Connolly and sophomore Lexi Swartz each notched three goals, while junior Meg Hurley added two. Senior Bella Morton led the way with three saves.

Coyle takes 3rd

 

Andover heavyweight Ethan Coyle took standout Dylan Chandler to the limit in the semifinal, losing 3-2, and then rebounded to take third place at the Woburn Tournament. St. John's Prep won the tournament and the Warriors came in 12th. Elias Maita won four straight matches at 160 to finish fifth and Sean Ballou came in fourth at 170.
