HAVERHILL | The raucous blue and white celebration at midfield at the conclusion of yesterday's Whittier Tech-Georgetown football game was befitting of the kind of outbursts you might see after a Thanksgiving game or a December playoff contest.

Ed Hargreaves scored twice and Pat Martin scored the game-winner as Triton edged Georgetown 3-2. Josh Ingram and Mike Salvaggio scored for the Royals (5-2-2), and Evan Weagle made six saves in the loss. Ben Cross and Dan Norton made three saves apiece for Triton (2-3-2).

Rachelle Bourque scored the game's lone goal as Triton downed Georgetown 1-0. Jenna Norton made eight saves for Triton (4-3-1), while Pauline Reilly turned aside six shots for the Royals (4-3).

Kelly Burke scored twice and added an assist to lead Georgetown to a 3-0 win over Wilmington. Sarah LeBlanc chipped in with a goal and Karen O'Hare had eight saves for the Royals.

Anne Cleary had two goals to lead Pentucket to a 3-1 victory over Georgetown. Spencer Lentine added a goal for the Sachems. Lyndsay Beaton had two assists. Christine Roy had one. Danielle Epstein scored the Georgetown goal.

Winless Newburyport threw a scare into unbeaten Georgetown, but the Royals earned the 1-0 win on a goal by Bryant Yavorski 35 minutes into the game. Chris Pinto was outstanding on defense for the winners while Royals coach Ron Comeau said Evan Weagle "was spectacular in net."

Lauren Gaffny struck three times for North Andover, and Alison McCarthy made three saves to lead the Scarlet Knights to a 3-0 win over Georgetown. Kathie Andrusin added two assists for undefeated North Andover (7-0). Sarah Osborne made seven saves in the loss.
